After collecting the raw materials, return to Alchemist Cagliostro.
The alchemist immediately gets to work and gives you some potions to try.

Go to Baurvill Hamlet and find the soldier by blowing the Hunting Birdcall.

Take the silver as quick as you can to the alchemist so that he can purify the potion with it.
Recieved: Potion Purified by Silver 1 pcs.
Now go back to to Baurvill Hamlet with the silver-purified potion and call the soldier using the Hunting Birdcall.
This time the potion has the desired effect and you can return to Sarpen to report to him.
